Chen Long survived a close match against India’s Kidambi Srikanth on his way to the men’s final at the World Superseries finals. Long defeated India’s Kidambi Srikanth 21-18, 21-9. “I was slow to get into the match and Srikanth was showing skills that I’m not familiar with so it took me a while to figure out how to play him,” explained the 25-year-old Chinese star. “I will have to get more fired up from early for the final. There are a lot of Chinese fans here and I want to do my best for them.”
Chen Long will now play Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark in the Men’s Final.
In the men’s doubles draw China’s Chai Biao and Hong Wei defeated Japan’s Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa 18-21, 21-15, 21-12. They will play the Korean team of Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong. The Korean team defeated Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen from Denmark 21-15, 21-16
Taiwan’s Tai Tzu Ying defeated India’s Saina Nehwal 11-21, 21-11, 21-13, 21-9. She will play Sung Ji-Hyun from South Korea in the Women’s Final.
The Japanese Women’s Doubles pairing of Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka defeated China’s Luo Ying and Luo Yu by a score of 21-14 13-21 21-14. The Japanese women will play Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei in the final.
Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei defeated Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock 21-9, 21-12 to reach the mixed doubles final. Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei will play Liu Cheng and Bao Yixin for the mixed doubles title
